Does scar camouflage hurt?
Most clients describe it as mild discomfort rather than pain — many of our reviews mention it being virtually painless. The sensation varies by area and individual, and Verena works gently throughout.
How long does scar camouflage last?
Inked camouflage typically lasts several years, gradually softening over time. Occasional touch-ups keep results looking their best. Your skin type, the area and sun exposure all affect longevity.
What's the difference between Inked and Inkless?
The Inked method tattoos skin-toned pigment to blend mature, flat, lighter scars. The Inkless method (inkless needling) uses a regenerating serum to improve texture in newer or raised scars and stretch marks — without adding pigment. At your consultation Verena recommends the right approach for your skin.
Can you treat self-harm scars?
Yes. Self-harm scar camouflage is one of our most meaningful treatments, carried out with complete privacy, gentleness and care. Your consultation is a calm, judgment-free space to talk through what's right for you.
How old does my scar need to be?
Scars should be fully healed — usually at least 12–18 months old — flat, and lighter than the surrounding skin (not red or raised). Verena will assess suitability at your consultation.
How many sessions will I need?
Most areas need 2–4 sessions spaced several weeks apart, allowing the skin to heal and the pigment to settle between appointments. Some clients see a striking difference after just one session.
Will the camouflage tan with the rest of my skin?
No — pigment is matched to your natural, un-tanned tone and won't darken in the sun. We recommend protecting the area with SPF, which also helps results last longer.
Is it suitable for everyone?
Camouflage reduces the visibility of marks but doesn't erase them, and it isn't suitable for every skin type — for example keloid-prone skin or unhealed, red or raised scars. Your free consultation and patch test confirm whether it's right for you.
